Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 large ripe mangoes
- Salt to taste
For masala paste
- 4 – 5 cloves of garlic
- 1/4th” ball of tamarind
- 1/4th tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1 cup fresh grated coconut
- 4-5 dry red chillies
For tadka
- 1 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2-3 dry red chillies
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 8-10 curry leaves
Instructions:
- Peel the mangoes and pulp it with your hands. Don’t throw away the seed
- For gravy: grind all the ingredients of masala paste with some water and keep it aside
- In a Kadhai/wok heat the oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and asafoetida
- Add the Mango pulp along with seed and mix well
- Add the masala paste, salt and mix well
- Add little water for the desired consistency
- Let it simmer for 7-8 minutes
- Serve hot with steamed rice
